Whenever SNL has an episode full of racist sketches, I remember - oh yeah, literally every single member of their writing staff is white
ABC has canceled Happy Endings after three seasons. Despite a loyal and vocal following, the Sony Pictures Television comedy will not continue on at the network. The ensemble comedy was moved in its third season to be part of ABC’s Tuesday comedy block, however, the lineup was the first to crumble against similar efforts on Fox and NBC. ABC shifted to reality on Tuesdays and moved Happy Endings to Fridays, where it most recently finished its run with a back-to-back episode burn-off.
I wish people wouldn’t just see me as the Asian girl who beats everyone up, or the Asian girl with no emotion. People see Julia Roberts and Sandra Bullock in a romantic comedy, but not me. You add race to it, and it became, ‘Well she’s too Asian’, or ‘She’s too American’. I kind of got pushed out of both categories. It’s a very strange place to be. You’re not Asian enough and then you’re not American enough.
