Rioters surrounded and threw molotov cocktails and smoke bombs at a Sephardi synagogue in Sarcelles, a northern suburb of Paris known as Little Jerusalem. Luckily the molotov cocktails did not succeed in setting fire to the structure. Jewish-owned stores were vandalized.
The rioters were prevented from entering the synagogue by the police. Approximately 30 members of the LDJ stood in the entrance of the synagogue compound, some armed with batons/sticks.
The number of attacked synagogues in France has now reached at least five.
