Life in Vermont continues apace.
Although Hurricane Irene is long gone and Vermont is recovering, evidence of the storm’s destructive path still remains along Route 100.
Not everyone can have a piano in her kitchen like Neko Case, but it’s good to know that she has an Ikea duvet like everyone else.

I live in Vermont. People think that there are only white people there. Look a little closer, look at all the dairy farms, and you will see a couple thousand Mexican farmworkers. Many are illegal and are working to support an honest live. Please take a look at this video to see one of the many problems these farmworkers face… the POLIMIGRA.

“The Manchester Police Department has adopted a bias-free policing policy stating that no personal demographic should be considered when officers develop reasonable suspicion or probable cause.”
“In short, the policy directs members of the department to not consider race, ethnicity or any other personal criteria when looking to establish reasonable suspicion or probable cause. Other criteria that should not be considered are: immigration status, national origin, color, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, mental or physical disability, religion and socio-economic status.
‘No one should become the suspect of an investigation because of any of those things,’ Baker said. ‘None of that stuff should be the basis in any police department for suspicion.’”
